Glenn Gibson Sculpture 'Observer Observed' by Julia Dunin Photography (1).jpg

Observer & Observed (2020)

This exhibition is a combination of pieces spanning my sculpture career intermingled with my latest work exploring the human form in full size. The thread running through the entire body of work is the thread of interconnectedness in this seemingly solid reality. Expressed through the millennia by sages and mystics and as modern science is now beginning to confirm, the title is drawn in part from the conversations between David Bohm and Jiddu Krishnamurti on the nature of consciousness and from Krishnamurti’s 1st public talk in Brockwood Park in 1976, where he states that the Observer is the Observed.

The title piece for the exhibition explores this connection literally showing two forms staring at each other from above and below and combining into a single form.
