I re-watched the movie Amedeus last night (1985 must-see). Mozart's requiem, in particular the Lacrimosa movement, inspired this piece. Lacrimosa is Latin for tearful/sorrow which captures the mood of this grieving angelic figure.

The sculpture was made at the time of my father's passing several years ago. I've always found time in the studio, immersed in creativity to be a cathartic and comforting place. Often I begin with no intention or plan, allowing inspiration to work through me, and I'm always surprised with the outcome.
